Every Detective In Law & Order Ranked Worst To Best

Image
Over 31 years since its debut, "Law & Order" remains a television mainstay, a decades-old franchise with multiple successful spin-offs still airing. The stately old series is so beloved that its original chicken soup for the cop drama soul formula is staging a comeback . As before, and just as we like it, half the episode will go to the police who investigate the crime, and the other half to the district attorneys who prosecute the accused. Compared to most cop dramas, "Law & Order" is thin on the personal strife between its characters, yet we get to know each of them over the years in ways that highlight both their flaws and their potential. We've discussed the best characters from the original series before. This time, we're taking a closer look at the detectives who served the NYPD's fictional 27th Precinct. This ranking is based on what impact each had on the show, and, subjectively, whether or not they were good at their jobs. Opinions wi...

Nicolas Cage To Sink His Teeth Into The Role Of Dracula In Universal's Renfield

Image
Despite all his rage, he is still just a Drac in a cage. Actor Nicolas Cage has spent his professional career skating up to the edge of madness and doing cartwheels, and so the logical next step in the "Pig" actor's evolution had to be something magnificent. This is the gentleman who went on a drug-fueled axe-killing spree against a hippie cult in Panos Cosmatos' "Mandy," after all. He's swapped faces with John Travolta. He's stolen the Declaration of Independence (for the greater good, you understand). He's even (sort of) played a bloodsucker in "Vampire's Kiss" -- you could say he's been prepping for this role since 1989. And now, he's putting on the cape as Count Dracula. In a deal reported first by The Hollywood Reporter , Cage will be coming back to studio movies with the role of Dracula in Universal Pictures' "Renfield," a spin-off of Bram Stoker's 1897 epistolary horror novel "Dracula." Beebo Saves Christmas Promo Here's a promo for the upcoming holiday special "Beebo Saves Christmas" on The CW, which spun directly out of "Legends of Tomorrow." Peacemaker Clip: Peacemaker Is Totally A Better Superhero Than Aquaman

Image
"I can't believe they're letting me shoot this," Gunn reportedly said on the set of "Peacemaker," the new show for HBO Max centered on John Cena's breakout performance in "The Suicide Squad." When James Gunn said that "Peacemaker" was going to be a " funeral for Warner Bros .," it sounds like he was talking about the type of material, as seen in the latest teaser clip released, where "Peacemaker" talks about smoking weed with the hospital janitor (Rizwan Manji of "Schitt's Creek"), and dropping a whole lot of f-bombs. James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the upcoming "Peacemaker" series, and served as the director on five. Based on everything we've seen from teasers and set reports, it truly does seem like Gunn has been given carte blanche to make the hero series, well, as "James Gunn" as humanly possible. Lest we forget, Gunn comes from a background of low-budget schlock...

Halle Berry Signs Major Deal With Netflix

Image
Halle Berry's Netflix film "Bruised" premiered on November 17, 2021, and it looks like Berry is officially part of the Netflix family. She's just entered a multi-picture deal with the streaming service, according to The Hollywood Reporter . "Bruised" was the top flick on Netflix domestically the week it premiered and hit the second spot worldwide. Not a bad deal for Berry's directorial debut. Per the report, she will reportedly produce and star in Netflix features with her multi-picture deal.  If you haven't seen "Bruised" yet, here is the info: Jackie Justice (Halle Berry) is a mixed martial arts fighter who leaves the sport in disgrace. Down on her luck and simmering with rage and regret years after her fight, she's coaxed into a brutal underground fight by her manager and boyfriend Desi (Adan Canto) and grabs the attention of a fight league promoter (Shamier Anderson) who promises Jackie a life back in the octagon. But the road t...

Spider-Man: No Way Home Sets New Record For Ticket Presales

Image
With great power comes great box office returns. Advance tickets went on sale yesterday at Fandango for Sony's " Spider-Man: No Way Home ," which opens across theaters on December 1, and in a couple hours, Spidey broke the 2021 record for the America ticketing company's best first day of presales. The record knocks Marvel Studios' "Black Widow" off of her web and sees the best advance ticket sales on Fandango since "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019. This means that the latest "Spider-Man" franchise entry has bested presales by the likes of the Avengers and Star Wars, a proper honor for one of the most anticipated superhero movies of the year. It's so hyped, in fact, that it busted the internet for a day. Ticketing websites Fandango, AMC, Alamo Drafthouse, Atom, and Cinemark were down within minutes, frustrating ticket buyers in an echo of "Avengers: Endgame" presale demands that had a similar effect. All the aforementioned t...

Train To Busan And Peninsula Director Teases Ideas For A Third Zombie Movie

Image
Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho completely revitalized the zombie subgenre with 2016's "Train to Busan." The film was as much a thrilling action horror film as it was a heartbreaking examination of fatherhood pushed to the absolute brink. It's now considered one of the best zombie films ever made, and Yeon Sang-ho has become one of the most sought after horror directors working today. Following the success of "Train to Busan," Sang-ho released the animated prequel "Seoul Station," and the high-octane live-action sequel, " Peninsula ." His latest project, " Hellbound " is the newest horror success series on Netflix, focusing on a nation under attack by supernatural creatures condemning souls to hell, leading to the rise of religious cults with nefarious intentions. In a recent interview with Variety talking about a possible season 2 of "Hellbound," Sang-ho let it slip that he's interested in a possible third live-a...
